Mr. Tang attended the AILA EB-5 Meeting

On August 22 and 23, 2014, Mr. Tang participated the 2014 EB-5 Investors and Regional Center Conference held by American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Charles Oppenheim, Chief of the Department of State Immigrant Visa Control and Reporting Division, announced that, effective immediately, the EB-5 preference category had become “unavailable” for Chinese applicants. All Chinese EB-5 applicants who have been scheduled for interview at an overseas Embassy of United States in August and September would take their interviews as scheduled. Such applicants will not be impacted by the “Unavailability” of the China EB-5 category for the remainder of FY-2014.

After the meeting, Mr. Tang also communicated with Charles Oppenheim regarding the possibility to increase EB-5 quotas. Charles Oppenheim expressed his appreciation for the positive role of EB-5 played in the US economy. He’s willing to bring up this issue to Congress on an appropriate occasion.
